An immunofixation Electrophoresis blood test, also known as protein electrophoresis, determines the concentration of specific proteins in the blood. Proteins serve a variety of functions, including energy production, muscle repair, and immune system support.
Albumin and globulin are the two types of proteins found in blood. The test categorises these proteins based on their size and electrical charge. The subgroups are as follows:
